Shoulder Stabilisation
Shoulder stabilisation
can be an effective and efficient treatment to widen pavements (for safety
or other reasons) or to rectify the edge of pavements (often a sign that a
pavement is too narrow for the traffic being carried). For pavements where
the central section remains sound, stabilisation can be carried out on the
shoulder only, without the additional cost of reworking these sections.
Stabilised Pavements is able to offer this process utilising
either a standard width stabilisation
machine (usually a 2.4m cutting width) or a
narrow/variable width machine
(1.0m, 1.5m or 1.8m
width).
The application of a bitumen seal to completed stabilised
shoulders also provides the option of applying a re-seal to the central
pavement if necessary at this time.
